  • 1 min read

On June 26, 2018, the National Association of Financial Aid Administrators announced the launch of a premier program to help confirm the skills and knowledge of financial aid professionals across the United States. This program was created out of growing demand from the higher education community to make sure that those managing financial aid programs could mature their skills as well as develop leadership skills. “We see this program as a pathway for advancement,” said NASFAA National Chair Billie Jo Hamilton, “providing the clear technical and ethical know-how essential to our profession.”

The Certified Financial Aid Administrator program (CFAA) is being launched as a voluntary program under the direction of the NASFAA Board of Directors. “Financial aid administrators are entrusted with protecting the integrity of federal financial aid programs, a vital role in any college or university,” said NASFAA President Justin Draeger. “We seek to bolster the success of aid administrators, and their respective institutions, by offering additional, formally-accredited and recognized training.” The program will offer 17 topic-based credentials, as well as professional development and services for financial aid administrators.
