The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Career Pathways Initiative Annual Convening and Data Institute will be held on July 1-3, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. The event’s theme for 2019 is “Linked: Promise to Purpose” and central to the discussed topics will be the changing nature of the workplace due to rapid technological advancement, and how Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) can adapt and equip themselves to respond to this change. Other topics will include data analysis, social justice, and more.
The objectives of the conference are to:
- Explore how HBCUs can continue driving missions while responding to the needs of a new economy and societal context
- Study purposeful approaches to leveraging disruptions in higher education
- Examine HBCUs leading large-scale change and preparing for a rapidly changing technology-driven world.
- Investigate partnering institutions as they execute career pathway developments:
- Intentional guided pathways
- Curricular enhancements
- Integrated co-curricular engagement
