Kate Brabandt is College Aid Services’ Coordinator of Business Development and Operations. She ensures that our services are running smoothly and effectively for our clients.
With almost 15 years of experience in higher education, Kate has served in various roles in both Financial Aid and Bursar offices. She has been responsible for many areas of financial aid, including but not limited to, Customer Service, Title IV compliance, Verification, Satisfactory Academic Progress, and Federal Work-Study. She has worked in Private, Public, and Community College Settings. During her time as a college aid administrator, Kate was known for building positive, collaborative relationships with other departments. She was often asked to sit on or chair University committees. Kate has been responsible for creating and implementing Financial Aid Awareness and FAFSA filing campaigns.
In her career as a financial aid professional, she says that one of her greatest achievements was receiving a note from a parent of a student, which read: “Thank you for making my life easier.” With this note hanging on the wall of her office to this day, Kate defines her success by how she is able to make the lives of others easier.
Kate holds NASFAA credentials in the areas of Verification, R2T4, Administrative Capability, Need Analysis, Campus Based Programs, and Student Eligibility. She has done training sessions for financial aid administrators on many topics, including R2T4, Verification, and Customer Service. Kate has also taught NASFAA credentialing sessions on both Campus Based Programs and Student Eligibility. She also enjoys presenting to students and families on Financial Aid Eligibility and Financial Literacy.
Regarding on working with College Aid Services, Kate says: “Whether it’s assisting with remote processing so financial aid professionals in the office have more time to work with students and families, or by working to come up with solutions for more effective processing and procedures, being a part of the College Aid Services team allows me to continue making others’ lives easier. Working alongside such knowledgeable, respected higher education professionals is the icing on the cake! I am so thankful to be a part of the team!”
