She has also presented at FASFAA Regional Workshops.
Sara has worked in several areas of financial aid, such as awarding, reconciliation, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), verification, and veteran benefits. She recently joined the College Aid Services training team and develops trainings for all levels. When asked what advice she would give a new person starting in financial aid, Sara emphasized the importance of asking questions and being open to learning. “When I started in financial aid, I felt like I asked a question every five minutes, but it helped me learn quickly. I always carried a notebook with me to jot down the answers to what I asked so that I could refer back to them later when I needed.”
Sara’s most rewarding achievements in her career are helping students through the financial aid process, specifically one student who she worked with every semester throughout his four years. “His final semester he wrote me an email letting me know he was graduating. He promised to make me proud after he graduated and make a difference in the world. I did not know that I had made such an impact in his life.”
Sara earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Central Florida and his Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
