David Gelinas is a Senior Consultant for College Aid Services. David recently joined the College Aid Services team, bringing 40 years of experience as a financial aid administrator in several roles at public and private institutions in Michigan, Montana, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
Throughout his career, David has served in various roles and committees at the state, regional, and federal level, serving as the National Chair for the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) in 2005-2006 and, most recently, as a member of the FAFSA Simplification Working Group during the 2019-2020 academic year. He earned the NASFAA Lifetime Achievement Award and Lifetime Membership before retiring from the traditional financial aid office in 2020. When asked what his most rewarding accomplishments are, he responded with “the impact I made on the profession itself through involvement in various professional associations, in addition to assisting literally tens of thousands of individuals achieve a higher education.”
Working with the College Aid Services team allows him to continue to share his financial aid knowledge and support institutions throughout the country. “I have enjoyed the opportunity to continue to share my expertise in assisting those who need it.”
David earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Westfield State College and his Master of Arts in Education from Western Michigan University.
