FAFSA Manual Corrections Now Available for Institutions (with some bugs) – Updated July 9th

  • 2 min read

The ability for institutions to make and submit manual corrections to FAFSA records via the FAFSA Partner Portal (FPP) is now available.

Unfortunately institutions have reported receiving error messages when attempting to submit corrections. The Department has isolated the bug to users with the role of Primary Destination Point Administrator (PDPA).  The current workaround is to submit corrections using other user roles. Alternatively, the PDPA may create a separate account as a temporary workaround to bypass the issue. The error has been added to the Department’s Issue Alerts page as follows:

Description: When a Primary Destination Point Administrator (PDPA) attempts to submit a manual correction to a FAFSA record in the FAFSA Partner Portal (FPP), they sometimes encounter error messaging that informs them that their session has been terminated. This issue is limited to the PDPA role but prevents the PDPA from successfully submitting a correction on behalf of their institution.

Workaround: Other user roles associated with their institution’s TG number may still log in to the FPP to submit corrections for their institution. Alternatively, the PDPA may create a separate account as a temporary workaround to bypass the issue and submit corrections.

The ability to submit batch institutional corrections via the Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) are still scheduled to be available in the “first half of August.”

Update on July 9, 2024: A technical fix has been implemented to resolve the issue preventing the Primary Destination Point Administrator (PDPA) role from submitting corrections for their institution. The PDPA may now log in to the FPP to submit corrections.
