Financial Aid administrators can access the 2024-25 training materials for this year’s Learning Tracks, which are designed as brief courses that focus on one particular subject at a time and are available through the FSA Training Center. The Department of Education also highlighted the FSA Basic Training for New Staff and FSA Fundamentals Online for professionals who want to review additional resources for the academic year.
2024-25 Learning Track Overview:
- 9 different categories, containing 34 different tracks overall
- Award year specific materials
- Focuses on one topic per track
- Administrators are encouraged to complete trainings each year and will receive Certificates of Completion

- Citizenship Eligibility in the Aid Application Process category
- Aid Administration for Programs Offered in Modules in the Modules category
- Managing a Federal Perkins Loan Portfolio in the Grants and Work Study category
Other Training Opportunities
FSA Basic Training for New Staff
- Designed for entry-level financial aid administrators and employees outside of financial aid who want to learn about Title IV management
- Can be a refresher course for experienced staff members
- 12 modules that can completed in any order; takes approximately 30-40 hours to complete
- Course materials for 2024-25 are available as of August 5, 2024
FSA Fundamentals Online
- A virtual course that offers “comprehensive instruction” on administering Title IV funding
- Beneficial for experienced staff members and newer administrators
How Access Training Materials
To access a Learning Track, do the following:
- Log into the FSA Training Center and navigate to “Learning Tracks” from the main menu
- Select “Grants and Work Study” from the dropdown section
- Choose the Learning Track that you want to complete and then click “Start Here”
To access FSA Basic Training for New Staff 2024-25:
- Log into the FSA Training Center and select “Training Courses” from the main menu
- Select “FSA Basic Training for New Staff” from the dropdown section
- Click “Start Here” and begin the course
