FSA has notified institutions that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will perform maintenance updates, which will affect the automatic transfer of tax return information on StudentAid.gov. The outage is scheduled to occur from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern time (ET) on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
Important Reminders:
- From 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 11, users may access the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. However, they will need to provide federal tax information for both the 2024–25 and the 2025–26 FAFSA form manually. Applicants may wish to complete these applications after the outage is over.
- Regularly scheduled StudentAid.gov maintenance is still scheduled from 3–11 a.m. ET on Sunday, January 12, 2025
- Users will be unable to log in, create an account, or access certain site functionality during this time.
