The 2025-26 Federal School Code (FSC) List of Participating Schools is now available as an online document and an integrated search function for applicants navigating the fafsa.gov website. Institutions who wish to update their FSC information must complete the Electronic Application for Approval to Participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid Programs (E-App) and follow the instructions below:
To change how your school appears on the Federal School Code List and fafsa.gov:
- Open the Electronic Application for Approval to Participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid Programs (E-App)
- Select the “Update/Report Information–Federal School Code” Purpose on the E-App and then go to the “Location” Section
- Update the Federal School Code name field
To request additional location:
- Open the Electronic Application for Approval to Participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid Programs (E-App)
- Select the “Update/Report Information–Federal School Code” Purpose on the E-App and then go to the “Location” Section
- In the Location Section, select the edit icon for the additional location you are requesting an FSC for (question #7)
Financial aid administrators can view their institution’s school code as an excel spreadsheet or a pdf file. Both are available here:
