To assist the community with planning and communicating changes to the 2026–27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid form, FSA has created a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation and PDF file with information and screenshots of the 2026–27 online FAFSA form.
The purpose of the 2026–27 FAFSA Preview Presentation is to provide financial aid administrators, mentors, and counselors with reference tools for staff trainings and financial aid nights.
For the initial application, the presentation demonstrates
- three flows that illustrate both dependent and independent student scenarios,
- one flow for a dependent student who applies for Direct Unsubsidized Loan only,
- one flow for a provisionally independent student or an unaccompanied homeless youth, and
- the FAFSA Submission Summary.
For corrections, the presentation demonstrates
- a student adding schools to the form,
- a student submitting a correction to their homeless determination,
- a student managing their FAFSA contributors, and
- a parent submitting a correction for missing consent and approval.
Please note that data used in the presentation is test data and is intended to show examples of the views that users will see on the website.
