The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA) is requesting public comments on its Feedback System, the tool that allows students, borrowers, parents, and others to submit complaints, disputes, and positive feedback about their federal student aid experiences.
Purpose of the Feedback System
The system serves as a centralized channel for handling:
- Complaints about schools, servicers, or FSA itself.
- Disputes related to loan servicing, financial aid processes, or institutional actions.
- Positive feedback to highlight strong service or effective practices.
- By collecting this input, FSA aims to improve service delivery, increase transparency, and hold schools and servicers accountable.
Why FSA Is Asking for Comments
FSA is inviting comments to help evaluate and improve the system’s design and effectiveness. Specifically, the Department is looking for insights on:
- Ease of use: Is the system user-friendly and accessible to all borrowers?
- Clarity: Are instructions, categories, and processes clear?
- Efficiency: How well does the system resolve issues in a timely manner?
- Impact: Does the feedback lead to meaningful changes in policy or practice?
How to Participate
Comments can be submitted through the Federal Register. Interested persons are invited to submit comments on or before November 10, 2025.
