The U.S. Department of Education just announced new extended deadlines for the 2024-25 award year that affect students, colleges, and financial aid offices across the country. These changes give everyone a little more breathing room to ensure federal aid is processed correctly.
- To give extra time for processing, the deadline for receiving FAFSA corrections, notices of change of address or institution, or requests for a duplicate FAFSA Submission Summary has been extended to September 29, 2025.
- The deadline for an institution to receive an Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) or FAFSA Submission Summary has been extended to September 30, 2025, or the student’s last date of enrollment in 2024-25, whichever is earlier.
