EDExpress 2025–26 Release 2.0 Adds Maximum Pell Field to FISAP Reports

  • 4 min read
ED Express for Windows 2026-27

A new service release is available for EDExpress for Windows 2025–26, Release 2.0 to add a new summary field on the Fiscal Operations and Application to Participate (FISAP) reports that are available in the Application Processing and Packaging modules. This is a cumulative release that includes the software updates we described in the June 27, 2025 Electronic Announcement.

This service release updates the FISAP reports to add a Maximum Pell summary field. This field provides a total of students with a Maximum Pell field value of 1, 2, or 3 on their Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR).

This update impacts the FISAP–Dependent Students Summary, FISAP–Independent Students Summary, FISAP–Eligible Dependent Students, and FISAP–Eligible Independent Students reports in the Application Processing and Packaging modules.

The new summary field can assist schools with the completion of the 2027–28 FISAP report (based on 2025–26 data) that is due on Sept. 30, 2026.

You must have EDExpress 2025–26, Release 2.0 installed on your PC before running this service release file. You can download Release 2.0 from the Software and Other Tools page of the Knowledge Center website.

Additional Issue Resolutions in This Service Release

In addition to the FISAP report updates described above, the service release includes the following issue resolutions:

  • FSA updated the Application Processing and Packaging versions of FISAP reports to correctly calculate dependent and independent students that have null or negative values for FISAP Total Income on the active ISIR transaction or Packaging record.
  • FSA corrected a Packaging Multiple Entry issue with awarding funds to multiple students.
  • FSA resolved issues with printing the Direct Loan School Account Statement (SAS) report.
  • FSA fixed an issue with creating Direct Loan External Export process using the default message class (DEER26IN).
  • FSA corrected an error generated when importing Direct Loan Payment to Servicing files (CRPS26OP) sent by the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System.
  • FSA resolved an issue with Pell Year-to-Date (YTD) and Direct Loan Rebuild imports related to auto-generation of Program Profile Code values.

Downloading and Running the EDExpress Service Release File

The updated EDExpress 2025–26, Release 2.0 service release installation file (EDE26_Dec2025_ReleaseV1.exe) is available in the Software and Other Tools area of the Knowledge Center website. You can initiate the download of the service release file by clicking the link. The software file will begin downloading when you click on the link.

You should run the installation on all PC workstations in your office that have Release 2.0 installed.

When you run the installation file, you are prompted to select the program directory for EDExpress 2025–26, Release 2.0 on the PC workstation. For most users, this is the default directory of C:\Program Files (x86)\EDESuite\EDExpress for Windows 2025-2026 (unless you changed this location during the installation process). If you do not have a Program Files (x86) directory, the default is C:\Program Files\EDESuite\EDExpress for Windows 2025-2026. Choose “OK” to initiate and run the service release installation.

You do not need to reboot your PC(s) once the copy procedure is complete to resume using EDExpress 2025–26, Release 2.0.

Additional Tips and Guidance

Note the following additional tips when loading the service release file to your PC workstation(s):

  • Be sure to close EDExpress on your PC(s) before performing the download and copy procedure.
  • Microsoft Windows users must have admin rights to the PC workstation(s) running EDExpress to run the service release file installation.
  • If you receive a message indicating you cannot overwrite the file (usually due to a “sharing violation”), restart your computer and try again. Windows may think the file overwritten by the service release file installation is in use until you restart.
  • If your EDExpress database is installed on a network drive, and you have multiple PC workstations accessing that database, you must run the service release file installation on EACH workstation.
