The U.S. Department of Education has announced the publication of Volumes 1, 4, and 6 of the 2025–26 Federal Student Aid Handbook.
- Volume 1: Student Eligibility discusses the eligibility requirements for student and parent federal student aid recipients and your responsibilities to ensure that recipients qualify for their aid awards.
- Volume 4: Processing Aid and Managing FSA Funds provides guidance on how to request, disburse, manage, and report on the use of federal student aid funds.
- Volume 6: The Campus-Based Programs provides the information that schools need to administer the campus-based programs, including the Federal Work-Study Program (FWS), the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program (FSEOG), and the Federal Perkins Loan Program (Perkins Loans).
The Federal Student Aid Handbook is posted digitally on Federal Student Aid’s Knowledge Center and consists of the Application and Verification Guide; nine numbered volumes; and appendices. Each time we post a volume, appendix, or errata, the Department informs the community through an Electronic Announcement on the Knowledge Center.
