Federal Student Aid (FSA) has released a new self-paced online training course that explains how the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA or OB3) affects federal student aid programs.
The course walks through current requirements and OBBBA’s impact on key Title IV areas, including:
- Student Eligibility
- Loan Origination & Disbursement
- Loan Repayment & Servicing
- School Eligibility & Accountability
It also provides a quick recap of the recent negotiated rulemaking process and timeline tied to OBBBA implementation.
Note: Since the Notices of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRMs) are still in progress, the training does not cover proposed or final regulations yet. FSA will update and expand training once regulations are published in 2026. In the meantime, interested parties can monitor the Negotiated Rulemaking for Higher Education 2025 website for updates.
How to Access:
Visit the FSA Training Center and select Legislative Updates on the home page to find the OBBBA Overview course.
This course is a great way for financial aid professionals to get up to speed on how the OBBBA intersects with federal student aid administration.
