The U.S. Department of Education has released the State Workforce Pell Certification Form, an important step in the implementation of the new Workforce Pell Grant program. Institutions seeking approval to offer eligible workforce programs will need this certification as part of the federal program approval process.
What Is the State Workforce Pell Certification Form?
Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) and the Department’s Workforce Pell regulations, institutions must obtain certification from their state’s governor (or the governor’s designated representative) before an eligible workforce program can be approved for Federal Pell Grant funding.
The newly released certification form allows the governor’s office to verify that a program meets the state’s workforce priorities and satisfies the state certification requirement.
