FSA Announces Fall FVT/GE and STATS Training Ahead of January 15 Reporting Deadline

FSA Training: FVT/GE and STATS Reporting Requirements

Federal Student Aid announced new training webinars to help institutions complete Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment (FVT/GE) reporting and understand early implementation of the Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS).

The sessions are free, virtual and open to all institutions. FSA strongly encourages institutions with delinquent submissions to attend. More than 1,700 institutions are delinquent for at least one of the 2024, 2025 or 2026 reporting cycles.

All outstanding data for these cycles are due January 15, 2027. Their original deadlines were September 30, 2025, October 1, 2025 and October 1, 2026, respectively. January 15 is the final deadline, and institutions should submit missing files as soon as possible.

How to Report FVT/GE and STATS Data to NSLDS

Date/Time: Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, 1–2 p.m. Eastern time (ET)

FSA staff will describe how institutions submit FVT/GE and STATS data to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®), with an emphasis on logistical details and processes. The session will provide an overview of the FVT/GE and STATS and Earnings Accountability regulations, an overview of the reporting requirements, and the processes institutions use to report data. The primary audience for this event includes institutional reporting staff who have not previously submitted FVT/GE data, financial aid administrators, institutional researchers, and anyone seeking a refresher about the data submission process.

A Conversation With ED: Complying with Financial Value Transparency Reporting Requirements (Hosted by ACE)

Date/Time: Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2026, 2–3 p.m. ET

Over the last several months, ED has engaged with higher education associations about their members’ delinquent FVT/GE data submissions. As part of these ongoing efforts, ED is partnering with the American Council on Education (ACE) to host a virtual event featuring ED officials, who will discuss the FVT/GE and STATS reporting requirements. ED will provide an update about FVT/GE and STATS data reporting, followed by a moderated Q&A. The event is free and open to all, including those that are not ACE members.

FVT/GE and STATS Session at the 2026 FSA Training Conference

FSA will offer a session at the December 2026 FSA Training Conference on FVT/GE and STATS reporting requirements. This session will cover a variety of topics about the reporting requirements, including how to report, what to report, required and optional data elements, early implementation, and upcoming reporting deadlines. FSA will also address frequently asked questions about FVT/GE and STATS reporting.
