Victoria Owens is a Senior Consultant for College Aid Services. She has over 25 years of experience in financial aid administration, with over 10 years of experience working with functional and technical aspects of software systems, including PeopleSoft, Banner, and Jenzabar. Her experience puts her in the “funky-tech” category of our consultants.
Throughout her career, Victoria has worked in almost every position in a financial aid office, consistently providing customer service and production assistance to support students and families. She has also worked as the functional lead for several financial aid system implementations and upgrades. Victoria has been a member of the national, regional, and state-level financial aid administrator associations over the years. As a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), she has achieved certification in seven of the 17 NASFAA financial aid credentials, instructing one of the credential courses for other financial aid administrators in her state association. She has served on various committees for the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA) and Kentucky Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (KASFAA). As a part of the the Professional Development Committee, she instructed the SASFAA New Aid Officer Workshop for two years. When asked what advice she would give a new financial aid administrator, Victoria says: “Do not be afraid to admit to not knowing the answer. Be willing to admit it, but eager to find out the answer. Not knowing is not a failure, it is an opportunity to learn and grow.”
Victoria joined the College Aid Services team looking for an opportunity to share her talents and experience while learning new things in the ever-evolving field of enrollment management.
