Latest Federal Comment Requests Propose Streamlining CAR and State Plan Submissions

The Department of Education has proposed reinstating the previously approved version of the Consolidated Annual Report and the State Plan Guide under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006. The changes aim to remove additional reporting requirements and the need for updated numerator and denominator formulas. Public comments on these proposals will be accepted through June 9, 2025.

How to Submit Public Comments

  • Comments should be submitted by selecting the Docket ID number through the online Federal eRulemaking Portal
  • Comments can also be submitted via postal mail, commercial delivery, or hand delivery
  • The Department will temporarily accept comments at ICDocketMgr@ed.gov if the regulations.gov site is not available to the public for any reason
  • Interested parties should submit their public comments on or before June 9, 2025
  • Comments submitted after the comment period will not be accepted.
