FSA Extends 2026 FVT/GE Reporting Deadline to January 15, 2027

Federal Student Aid’s October 8 update gives institutions until January 15, 2027, to complete 2026 Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment (FVT/GE) reporting, covering the 2025–26 award year.

More than 1,000 institutions missed the October 1 deadline and are considered delinquent. Nearly 1,400 remain delinquent for the 2024 and 2025 cycles, which share the January deadline.

Institutions may also correct previously submitted data through January 15. No statement to the Secretary is required if all required data are submitted by then.

Early implementation of Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) reporting remains available for 2026, allowing institutions to omit certain data elements.

ED says no further extensions will be granted. Missing the final deadline could result in heightened cash monitoring, fines, sanctions, or other actions.

Institutions should review FSA’s updated reporting spreadsheet, verify submission accuracy, and allow time to resolve errors. New fall training will provide additional support.
