Alex Fuentes, MBA

Alex is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for College Aid Services. He leads the organization’s internal operations, providing oversight of Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, and Information Technology. His strategic leadership and operational expertise ensure these areas work seamlessly to support exceptional client service and organizational excellence.

Before joining College Aid Services, Alex served as Director of International Business Development and Consulate/Embassy Relations at Baptist Health South Florida. He led global business development, marketing strategy, market research, and the operations of multiple international marketing offices and a diagnostic imaging center in the Cayman Islands. His leadership helped expand Baptist Health’s international market presence while building and leading a high-performing team of in-country managers throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

Earlier in his career, Alex spent more than thirteen years with the Miami Herald Media Company, a McClatchy company, where he advanced through several leadership positions, including Vice President of Marketing and Interactive. He led numerous digital transformation initiatives, including the launch of the company’s first mobile applications, the redesign of MiamiHerald.com and elNuevoHerald.com, and McClatchy’s nationwide “2020” multichannel marketing campaign across all 30 markets. His innovative approach earned recognition as a leader in digital media and marketing.

Alex also served as Sales Programs and Promotions Specialist for Yahoo! en Español, where he developed and executed integrated marketing programs targeting U.S. Hispanic and Latin American audiences.

With more than 27 years of leadership experience, Alex brings expertise in strategic planning, business development, domestic and international marketing, healthcare marketing, digital strategy, advertising, web and mobile development, user experience design, and project management. His diverse background enables him to drive operational excellence while supporting the continued growth and success of College Aid Services.

Alex earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Florida International University in 1999 and a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University in 2008.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Alex enjoys participating in long-distance races, including half and full marathons, and is an avid animal lover, especially dogs.
