Alex Fuentes, MBA

Alex is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for College Aid Services. In this role, he oversees all the essential “back-of-the-house” operations, including Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, and IT. With his extensive experience and expertise, Alex ensures the smooth and efficient functioning of these critical functions.

Before joining College Aid Services, Alex held the position of Director of International Business Development and Consulate/Embassy Relations at Baptist Health South Florida. During his tenure at Baptist Health, he played a vital role in global marketing, leading initiatives in business development, strategy, research, and overseeing the operations of multiple international marketing offices and a diagnostic imaging center in the Cayman Islands. Alex’s exceptional leadership contributed to the growth of Baptist Health’s international market share and the development of a highly skilled and diverse team of in-country managers across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Prior to his role at Baptist Health, Alex spent over thirteen years at the Miami Herald Media Company, a McClatchy company, where he held various positions, including Vice President of Marketing and Interactive. During his time at the Herald, Alex demonstrated his innovation and expertise in digital media and marketing, spearheading significant initiatives such as the launch of the company’s first mobile apps and the redesign of flagship websites, MiamiHerald.com and elNuevoHerald.com. He also played a pivotal role in the national multichannel marketing campaign for McClatchy’s “2020” redesign, which spanned all 30 of McClatchy’s markets. His contributions and accomplishments earned him recognition as an industry leader.

Alex’s career also includes his time at Yahoo! en Español, where he served as the Sales Programs and Promotions Specialist. In this role, he focused on executing integrated multi-tiered promotional programs targeting the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets.

With over 23 years of experience, Alex is a seasoned professional with a wide range of specialties. These include strategic planning, domestic and international marketing, business development, healthcare marketing, advertising, digital and social media, search engine optimization, web/mobile development, user interface design, and project management. His diverse skill set and wealth of knowledge make him an invaluable asset to College Aid Services.

As the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Alex brings his expertise to bear, ensuring the effective operation of crucial functions and driving the success of College Aid Services in delivering exceptional solutions and support to our clients.

Alex received his Bachelor in Communications degree from Florida International University in 1999 and a Master in Business Administration degree from Florida State University in 2008.

Alex is fluent in English and Spanish. He also enjoys participating in long distance races (e.g. half & full marathons) and is a lover all pets, but especially dogs.
