Brenda Brown

In 2018, Brenda joined College Aid Services as a Senior Consultant, bringing with her a wealth of functional and technical (or “funky-tech”) experience to share with clients. Within a remarkably short period, she swiftly rose to the position of Director of Business Development and became an integral member of the College Aid Services leadership team. In December 2021, she earned a promotion to Vice President of Business Development, and in 2023, Brenda assumed the role of Vice President of Campus Partnerships.

In her current capacity, Brenda holds responsibility for talent acquisition and the management of consulting staff. Additionally, she oversees College Aid Services projects and collaborates closely with the marketing, finance, and operations teams to drive success.

Brenda’s impressive career spans over 38 years in higher education, with 34 of those years dedicated to the University of Miami. Prior to her involvement in financial aid, Brenda managed various crucial aspects, such as enrollment, student records, academic probation, dismissals, and upper-level status for undergraduates within the School of Business. She then transitioned into roles encompassing quality control, compliance, athletic aid, publications, staff development, and verification, steadily advancing in positions ranging from coordinator to Assistant Director before assuming the role of Systems Manager.

After 14 years of exceptional service, Brenda shifted her focus to the School of Law, where she served as the Associate Director of Financial Aid. In this role, she oversaw operations and automated aid processing for law students. Subsequently, she assumed the position of Director of Strategic Initiatives, collaborating with functional and technical users to explore, implement, and harness technology in support of business processing.

Over her professional career, she has been a member of professional associations at the national (NASFAA), regional (SASFAA), and state (CASFAA, FASFAA, GASFAA, MASFAA, and PRASFAA) level. She has served on Executive Boards, various committees, and task forces. Her peers have recognized Brenda for her service and/or significant contribution to the financial aid community.

Brenda holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Miami.
