Christi Mapes

Christi joined College Aid Services in 2018 as a Senior Consultant to share her functional and technical (aka – “funky-tech”) experience with clients.

With a career spanning back to 1989, Christi is a seasoned professional in the field of financial aid. She has accumulated a wealth of experience by working with a diverse range of institutions, including public and private colleges, 2-year and 4-year universities. Christi is an experienced; goal-oriented leader with a demonstrated track record of managing financial aid programs.

Christi’s leadership prowess shines through in her track record of directing teams of financial aid personnel to support university, federal, and state goals and objectives. Her deep knowledge of federal regulations and regulatory compliance is evident in her successful management of programs and financial aid audits, with no findings of non-compliance with Title IV regulations for over 30 years. Furthermore, she is proficient in utilizing technology and software systems relevant to financial aid, including PowerFAIDS.

Prior to her tenure at College Aid Services, Christi retired from her position as the Director of Financial Aid at Campbellsville University in May 2020, where she dedicated over 20 years of service. Before that, she served as a Student Services Officer at Hazard Community College for 4 years and as the Director of Financial Aid at Lees College for 9 years.

Christi is active in the state (KASFAA), regional (SASFAA) and national (NASFAA) associations. At KASFAA, she has chaired several committees and held the elected positions of President, and Treasurer. She received KASFAA’s highest recognition honor, The Herb Vescio Distinguished Service Award in 2011. Christi also served as the chair of several committees in SASFAA.

Christi earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Campbellsville University in 2007.

She is a NASFAA Certified Financial Aid Administrator (FAAC®) and has also obtained NASFAA credentials in Administrative Capability, Cost of Attendance, and Student Eligibility.
