Magdalen Moser

Magdalen Moser joined College Aid Services in 2024. She is proficient in verification, administering the Federal Work Study Program, monitoring Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), processing loans, and packaging federal, state, and institutional awards. Magdalen has a deep understanding of the complexities of institutional, program, and student eligibility.

Magdalen began her career in financial aid at a small private trade school before joining the University of Maryland system, first at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and then at the University of Baltimore. She spent several years in the private sector before returning to Financial Aid at UMBC in 2021. She is currently at Hood College in Frederick, MD.

In addition to her financial aid duties, Magdalen is a VA School Certifying Official, dedicated to improving communication with students, families, and the university community. She also serves as an adjunct professor, teaching a First Year Seminar with an emphasis on intergenerational communication.

Magdalen is a member of the Delaware-District of Columbia-Maryland Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (DEDCMD ASFAA), the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), and the Eastern Association of Financial Aid Administrators (EASFAA).

She is a NASFAA Certified Financial Aid Administrator (FAAC©) and has earned NASFAA credentials in Cost of Attendance, Professional Judgement, Satisfactory Academic Progress, Packaging and Notification, Campus-Based Programs, Cash Management, Consumer Information, Administrative Capability, Student Eligibility, and Direct Loans.

Magdalen holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Towson University and a Master of Science in Strategic Communication from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
