In 2023, Dr. Matthew Kearney joined College Aid Services as a Senior Consultant, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of financial aid. With a strong dedication to supporting students and families, and customers, Matthew possesses comprehensive understanding of all aspects of enrollment management and financial aid.

Matthew embarked on his career in the financial aid industry in 2009, starting as a Financial Aid Advisor at the University of Missouri. Through his remarkable abilities and dedication, he swiftly advanced within the organization, eventually assuming the position of Senior Assistant Director of Student Financial Aid. Following his tenure at the University of Missouri, Matthew joined Fontbonne University, initially serving as the Director of Student Financial Aid before being promoted to Assistant Vice President for Enrollment & Finance. Currently, Matthew is the Director of Student Financial Services at Southeast Missouri State University.

Proficient in Ellucian Banner, Matthew has provided services to clients across various areas, including assuming Interim Director duties, developing comprehensive policy and procedure manuals, facilitating R2T4 reprocessing, conducting compliance assessments and resource evaluations, performing organizational reviews, and conducting cash flow analysis. Matthew takes pride in helping institutions meet necessary requirements, particularly when time or staffing constraints pose challenges.

Actively engaged in professional associations, Matthew maintains an active role within the financial aid community at the state, regional, and national levels. He currently serves as the President-Elect for the Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA) and as the State Representative for the regional Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA).

Matthew received a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications in 2005 and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration in 2009, both from Southeast Missouri State University. He furthered his education and received a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning in 2012 and his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership in 2016, both from the University of Missouri. Matthew also holds NASFAA credentials in the area of Cost of Attendance.
