Federal Student Aid has released the 2026–27 update of FSA Training for Foreign Schools, a comprehensive, self-paced online training designed to help foreign institutions understand and administer federal student aid programs.
The training includes six modules covering the fundamentals of federal student aid administration, with a particular focus on foreign school participation in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. Courses may be completed individually based on an institution’s training needs, or participants may complete the entire training.
What’s New for 2026–27
In addition to annual updates and enhancements throughout the training, FSA has added new interactive learning activities to several courses, including:
- Completing the FAFSA Form
- Types of Charges
- Enrollment Reporting
- R2T4 for Modules
The courses also incorporate real-world scenarios, instructional videos, and knowledge checks to reinforce key concepts.
How to Access the Training
The updated training is available through the FSA Training Center. After logging in, users should select Training Courses from the main menu, choose FSA Training for Foreign Schools, and then select Start Here.
Individuals who do not already have an FSA Training Center account can select Create new account from the login page and follow the instructions to establish a username and password.
Foreign school financial aid professionals are encouraged to use the updated training as an opportunity to refresh their knowledge and review the requirements associated with administering federal student aid programs.
